Both Asbury and Mt. Vernon have rich roots in the Methodist tradition and had faithfully served as United Methodist Churches since 1968. After a time of prayerful discernment and a congregational meeting, there was overwhelming agreement that Asbury and Mt. Vernon should continue their Methodist tradition within the Global Methodist Church (GMC). Our membership in the GMC became effective November 1, 2023.
